Song Birds
So many song birds visit our gardens like the Chaffinch with its very loud trill-like songs or the Tree Sparrow with its cheerful-sounding tunes. Some birds can be heard singing all year round such as the Blue Tit, the Coal Tit, the Robin and the Wren and some birds can be heard singing during certain months of the year. The Blackbird and the Greenfinch can be heard between March and July and the Dunnock between January to July.
Some Song birds sing songs that are very rarely heard such as the Bullfinch, the Long-tailed Tit and the Marsh Tit. The House Sparrow sings very monotonous songs and then others sing very melodious songs like the Linnet and the Goldfinch which were once a popular cage birds because of their pleasant tunes.
Starlings are very clever birds because they can imitate the songs of other birds and Nuthatches sing loud and varied songs. Whatever song a bird sings whether it be quiet, loud, high-pitched, melodious or monotonous, they all bring joy to the ear. We hope you enjoy reading about our wonderful song birds.
