Saltwater Worms

There are 3 main types of worm that live in the sea and those are flatworms, ribbon worms and segmented worms otherwise known as ‘true worms’. Sea worms are so fantastically colourful in form and appearance in comparison to land worms and freshwater worms. In this section we have described the Common Lugworm which can be a variety of colours. We also have the gregarious Honeycomb Worm, the fantastic Peacock Sea Worm with its feather-like tentacles on its head and the Green Leaf Worm with its bright green segmented body. Also covered in our A-Z is a worm called a Sea Mouse which is a strange looking creature that doesn’t look remotely like a worm. Its body is flat and broad and covered with ‘fur’ which appears to glow gold, yellow and blue on its lower fringes. We hope you enjoy reading about our fantastic saltwater worms.
